Discussion over whether to keep this page
I've been noticing a trend on some of these pages about how some details are often made to seem like they're worse than they actually are. With this page in particular, I have noticed just how it's set up and frankly, some of the reasons are a bit...much. Some of the bad reasons include:
- "It's mostly just a sing-a-long show, with no plot, follow, or cohesion. There are also barely any moments of characters speaking in normal dialogue in the show besides mostly making grunts, laughing, and shouting "hooray!", despite the show having voice actors."
- The songs are annoying to listen to, with many annoying voice acting for the babies, and the songs in general are extremely badly written
- While the characters aren't bad, they are pretty much the same characters and are completely one-dimensional and soulless, so much so that they can hardly be considered characters.
- When there IS voice acting, it's very annoying and atrocious, with it being one of the worst voice acting in any shows ever, with the voices being so high pitched that it makes Crazy Frog have phenomenal voice acting, in comparison to this show.
- Many of the episodes usually play out the same, with zero differences, to distinguish each other, making the series extremely repetitive and boring, since there are multiple rehashed elements from other episodes, and the series never changes its formula, to stay fresh, and instead, refuses to evolve, likely due to its success with children, under the age of 5.
...except here's the thing. The whole show's meant to be a bunch of music videos for children's songs. I'm perfectly aware that there are higher quality videos and programs for kids to watch, but when you use that factor to compare it to this "show", it's kind of an unfair disadvantage considering the show doesn't really have a chance. Not every children's show has to be Sesame Street or Mister Rogers-level quality. If older audiences don't like the show, than it's simple: don't watch the show. But that doesn't really justify condemning other people who put the show on their kids, considering it's not very severe. And calling this "one of the worst kid shows ever made" is very uncalled for, considering it has genuine fans.
...so here's what I have in mind. I'm not saying you need to view this as "good media", or overpraise, but I think some of us can agree that some of the controversies and hatred for the web shorts are a tad bit overblown, especially since the shorts definitely have their facts and don't need to come across endless trivial nitpicks about them. In fact, I think a page for this may to divisive for its own topic, and that best course of action would be to remove this page from the wiki all together. This wouldn't be the first time a work's been forbidden from here to due to having genuine fans and a rather toxic hatedom (remember Star Wars episodes VIII and IX?, or The Loud House Movie?). I'd delete the page myself, but I want to hear other people's thoughts on the matter first, in case that have other ideas. What do you think? Do you think the page should be deleted and forbidden, or not? Let me know your thoughts. SpaceProtagonist (talk) 19:19, July 8, 2024 (UTC)
I don't think the page deserves the deletion. Also, I'm trying to get Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years of the Forbidden list. In fact,, I think it's ironic to have the page on Elsagate but not Cocomelon. [order to see if KK deserve a page here, then it is this.] NewMarioBobFan (talk) 20:17, July 8, 2024 (UTC)
