Talk:You're Fired (Teen Titans Go!)

A Quick Question

How is this episode a ripoff of the SpongeBob episode, “You’re Fired”? Other than the beginning being somewhat the same, being fired for over ridiculous reason (SpongeBob: A nickel, Beast Boy: Being miserably out of character). I just don’t see how it’s a ripoff, the rest of the episode (the TTG! one) player out like this: Robin needs a replacement so he holds auditions in a similar way actors audition and DC heroes with animal superpowers, plus, a poorly disguised Beast Boy. But the Wonder Twins were picked, the Titans begin treating them unfairly, Beast Boy tries to get his old job back. He sabotages Jayne then Zan gets fed up with the Titans’ treatment and runs away. He puts himself in danger and Beast Boy rescues him and he gets hired back because status quo is God (I am starting to hate that trope).

The SB played out like this; SB gets fired over a lost nickel, SB cries for 3 minutes straight (real time) and becomes depressed, he hangs out with Patrick and eats poison, Sandy decides he’s a mess and tells him to pull himself together, he tries to get a new job but the employers don’t like him because all he can make is krabby patties, he can make snail food, the employers kidnap him, Squidward is a superhero and rescues him, and he gets his old job back.

Both plots are completely different, I don’t see how it’s a ripoff. --Have an awesome day! (talk) 15:55, July 28, 2023 (UTC)
