"The Drawing Class" is the 5th episode from the season 4 of Titeuf.

Plot

To make people forget that he botched his work in drawing class, Titeuf invents an odious lie: he tells anyone who will listen that his dad beats his mom. Immediately, he becomes a real phenomenon, and everyone takes pity on him.

Why It A Horrible Drawing

  1. For starter, Titeuf is at his absolute worst here, since he invent a big lie that is absolutely unnaceptable, which consist of the fact that his dad beat up his mother, we kid you not!!
    • Also, the reason of his lie is incredibly dumb, it just because he don't want to get a 0 on his test, while he did try to do other things in the past to avoid getting that score, he didn't go that far like in this episode.
      • Not to mention that if you do this in real life, not only that you might had troubles but your parents might get in huge trouble when they didn't done anything wrong, though thankfully in this episode the dad get nothing.
    • Also, there's plenty of good ideas for doing an episode plot about a lie as seen in some other good Titeuf episodes from season 3, but howewer here it was horribly executed, and is the worst way to doing it.
  2. Misleading Title: It's not really an episode about drawing but rather an episode about a horrible lying, the episode could have easily been called "The Big Lie" and no ones would have ever seen a difference.
  3. The worst thing about it is that everyone truth Titeuf about this and don't even try to ask him if it's true, and to make matter worse, it didn't even had proofs about it either.
    • This is mostly because everyone is dumb in this episode, since they truth that just because of a drawing Titeuf made that is about violence.
  4. The mistress, while likable, act as if she don't had any intelligence since there's times in the series she did seen his parents for troubles he made, and with only the drawing as a proof, it is obvious that it's fake.
  5. For some reasons, Manu who is the voice of the reason (well for the most parts) didn't tell to Titeuf that lying with such a terrible thing was bad, and didn't tell anything about it to Titeuf and does nothing to stop this, it is also the same thing that goes for Hugo.
  6. The real reason why Titeuf did admit that it was a lie is just to talk again to Ramatou, which doesn't even feel like he got a lesson.
  7. It overall give a horrible message about domestic violences, and it also give a horrible message that if you lying about something this severe, then you might get saved from a bad score test, when it doesn't and instead had you getting ton of troubles.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. Ramatou is the only one that did know about Titeuf lying, and did force him to admit that it was a lie, and fortunately he did it, though he did it only because of her.
  2. Most characters aside from Titeuf are likable, even Nadia who is the most mean character of this season is likable and give courages to Titeuf when she though the lie of Titeuf.
    • Also, it's the only time in the series where her slapping Titeuf was justified, since he did invent a horrible lie.
  3. At least Titeuf did stopped his lying at the end of the episode.
