On August 31, 2021, before the series premiered, it was renewed for a second season, which premiered on April 1, 2023.
Premise
Tween optimist Molly McGee lives to make the world a better place, fix what has gone wrong, and spread joy. Meanwhile, cantankerous ghost Scratch lives to make the world a worse place, break what has gone right, and spread misery. When a curse from Scratch backfires, he finds himself forever bound to Molly. Despite that, Scratch and Molly form an unlikely friendship that guides each of them through the ups and downs of their respective worlds.
Why You Will Never, Ever, Ever Gonna Be Alone Again
- Incredible voice acting, such as Ashly Burch (who voices Molly McGee), Dana Snyder (who voices Scratch), Jordan Klepper (who voices Pete McGee), Sumalee Montano (who voices Sharon McGee and Grandma Nin), Michaela Dietz (who voices Darryl McGee), Lara Jill Miller (who voices Libby Stein-Torres), and Jules Medcraft (who voices Andrea Davenport).
- Likable characters such as Molly McGee and Scratch themselves, Pete McGee, Sharon McGee, Andrea Davenport, Darryl McGee, and Libby Stein-Torres.
- Awesome episodes such as "The Curse" (which started this series on a high note), "First Day Frights", "Getting the Band(shell) Back Together", "Hooray for Mollywood!", "Scratch the Surface", "Friend-Off", and other episodes since a lot of them provided entertaining, yet creative plots that have never been done before, while at the same time does not overuse cliches.
- The songs, such as the theme song, the credits song, Awesome Best Friends Day, Just Give, and Abraham Lincoln, are awesome and catchy.
- While the Buddy comedy concept has been done many times in recent years, it makes good use of it since the concept of a quirky girl and a banished ghost forming an unlikely friendship is actually unique and never been done before.
- Despite the fact that each segments are 11 minutes, the pacing is very well done since it is not too fast, nor slow despite the fluid animation, just right to set up a good story.
- Awesome animation from Mercury Filmworks, since they also provided high quality animation for other shows like, the first seasons of both Star vs. the Forces of Evil and Wander Over Yonder, and The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse.
- Unlike certain shows that tend to have continuity issues, the continuity of this show is surprisingly well-done since it gave each characters a lot of development like Libby Stein-Torres (in Scratch the Surface and Friend-Off).
- Great representation as Molly and Libby are both minorities (Molly's of Thai and Irish descent and Libby is a Latina Jew).
Cursed Qualities
- Andrea Davenport can be a bit unlikable at times, since she represents the mean popular girl stereotype and her running gag of constantly wanting everyone to say her name correctly can get tiresome for a while.
- Speaking of which, the main characters themselves can be a bit flawed at times given that:
- Scratch can be annoying at times due to his constant complaint of being with Molly McGee. But in later episodes, he eventually got used to it.
- Molly McGee may come across as annoying in some episodes due to her down-to-earth personality, though most of the time, she does mean well.
- Libby Stein-Torres, like Giorno Giovanna, can be bland and dull personality-wise.
- Darryl before the events of the first episode can come across as a unbearable troublemaker.
- Speaking of which, the main characters themselves can be a bit flawed at times given that:
- There's some bad episodes here and there.
