The player(s) have to guide Ren and Stimpy as they retrieve parts to rebuild their newest and latest invention. Most of the game play is of the side view platform type. However, the game can be played both one or two player through the same stages.

Plot

Ren comes to see what Stimpy is doing. Stimpy is making his latest invention, The Mutate-o-Matic. It can turn household garbage (even food scraps) into food. To convince Ren that he's not fooling around, Stimpy shows Ren how it works by switching the lever to No Way causing the invention to explode into pieces. Now Ren and Stimpy must find the missing pieces for the invention before it's too late.

Why It's Happy Joy Joy

  1. The game is a major improvement over the previous games, even better than Veediots!, and it show with the good qualities listed below.
  2. Decent and solid controls, as they are very responsive and aren't stiff at all, it is one of the few Ren & Stimpy game to had good controls, the other being Veediots! and Quest for the Shaven Yak.
  3. Speaking of the controls, the gameplay had ton of variaty in it despite being the same kind of levels, instead of just being a regular platformer that doesn't change anything, here it is a platformer that use the abilities of both characters, and there's so many moves to the point that you may never find the game repetitive or boring at all, even if it's a short game.
    • Those moves consist of:
      • A higher jump when pressing up and the jump button, which is useful when you cannot get to a higher platform, and is especially useful when speedrunning the game.
    • You can throw your ally for attacking, in which it is a unique idea and is well executed, this idea would later be seen in some of the Donkey Kong Country games.
    • When playing as Ren, you can use Stimpy to do longer jump, which is often useful, either when speedrunning or when you need it.
  4. Lot of creative levels that are some of the best seen in a Ren & Stimpy game, those levels also aren't based on any episodes of the show unlike the other games, which is the only Ren & Stimpy game to had entirely new area.
  5. Good graphics that are faithful to the show art style and had lot of good looking locations for a Sega Genesis game, such as garden, kitchen, zoo and even a lab at the end of the game, which all look fantastic, despite being a bit less detailled than most of the SNES games, the color palette is also really decent, and the sprites work is just plain awesome.
  6. Fun, fast-paced gameplay for a Ren & Stimpy game, as stated in the WIR#3 pointer, you need to use your partner for some of the situations and it work really well and the game is designed with it, not only that but there's so many varied moves as stated before, both when playing as Ren or Stimpy.
    • playing as two players in the game is even more fun since you get to play the two character and one of you control one of the two, how awesome is that? Also, no other games did this in the franchise, which is an extremely unique thing for this franchise and even for the time, despite that DCK games existed back then.
    • In fact this is the most fast paced game of the entire franchise, especially when the characters run, they move quite fast and this make the game even more fun.
  7. Unlike the other games of the franchise, it isn't frustrating, although the game might still be too easy.
  8. Decent soundtrack that sound very catchy and fit the levels of the game, types of musics range from energetic, relaxing or even quiet sounding, in which it is almost like they wanted to do the exact same thing from Garfield: Caught in the Act also on the Sega Genesis, even if that game was released in 1995, two years after this game was released.
  9. Great plot that is an alternative to the episode of the same name plot, since here the invention of Stimpy get destroyed, and both Ren and Stimpy need to get it's parts back, the invention is also different from the episode, instead of being something that make you happy, it is something for eating things that the invention does.
  10. Hilarous cutscenes at the beginning, with hilarous dialogues, such as when the invention got destroyed and what happen next is pretty funny, even the core gameplay is funny with the goody animation when using your partner.

EEDIOT!! Qualities

  1. The bosses are pretty bad since they aren't actual boss, and they are extremely easy to defeat, they are arguably even worse than the bosses in Veediots! for the SNES.
  2. The game is unfortunately way too short, lasting for only 20 minutes, and it doesn't help that the game is fairly easy.
  3. The game over, while not bad, is very depressing for a Ren & Stimpy game, not helping the music playing in it.

Reception

The game received mixed to positive reviews by critics and positive reviews by gamers, and is considered to be the best Ren & Stimpy game ever made by many peoples, it is also the only one to be considered to be truly a good game by most peoples, since the other good games we're divise, especially Veediots!

Trivia

  • It is the most well know Ren & Stimpy game ever released, the other being Veediots! on SNES.
  • It is the most speedrunned game of the franchise, mostly because of it's gameplay that include a lot of variaty and also for being fast paced.
