The Witch Hunt
This should've been the series finale, not a stupid lazy remake.

Next episode: Run For Shelter

Plot

Oggy is watching a horror movie on Halloween night, and he is afraid while watching it as he covers his face with the corner of his beanbag pillow.

Why It Hunted and Found the Witch (In a Good Way)

  1. The episode would've been a great way to end the series if the next episode wasn't "Run For Shelter" (a remaster of Take Cover from season 2).
  2. This episode along with "Oggy's Got Talent!" are massive improvements over the infamous "Fake News" episode.
  3. The title card is really good despite not being that Halloween-themed when Oggy turns into a mouse and the roaches turn into cats.
  4. The plot is very creative (despite being similar to "Inside Out" from season 3) as it is an even better version (despite "Inside Out" also being a great episode) as it has Oggy becoming a mouse and the roaches turning into cats. It also shows an example of a good rehash as not all rehashes are bad.
  5. Lots of funny moments, such as when the roaches as cats and Oggy as a mouse as they use the hose to water Oggy but Oggy draws a picture of him to trick the roaches to aim the hose at them.
  6. The design of the witch is really good, even better than the original version from seasons 3 and 4.
  7. The opening has a Halloween theme onto it.
  8. Despite BQTNFtW #2, Jack at least tries to save Oggy from being a mouse by trying to steal Bob's ladder to use to get into his house when the cockroaches won't let him in.
  9. Jack even parodies Santa Claus by going down the chimney of Oggy's house and another parody of Godzilla when the cockroaches accidently turn Oggy into a purple dinosaur that roars flames out of him.
  10. Heartwarming ending: Oggy, Jack, and Olivia reunite after Oggy turns from a mouse back to normal.
  11. If you exclude remakes, then this ends the series on a high note.

Bad Qualities That Never Found the Witch

  1. As mentioned in WIHaFtW #4, it appears to be a rehash of "Inside Out" despite both of them being good episodes.
  2. Jack was a bit unlikable as he rudely ignored his call from Oggy as a mouse but thankfully redeemed himself during the second half.
  3. One particular continuity-shattering moment involves Olivia. Basically, Jack is trying to help Oggy return back to normal after getting zapped into a mouse by a witch, when he spots Olivia. Realizing an opportunity to bring Oggy back to normal, he rushes up to her, presents a flower bouquet and requests that he be kissed on the cheek as a reward. And Olivia not only agrees to smooch Jack, but happily so! Sure, it's possible Olivia viewed the kiss as platonic and not romantic, but she's still dating Oggy nonetheless!

Trivia

  • Miss Cleo from the Space Goofs episode, "Which Witch is Which?", appeared instead of the witch that appeared in the 3rd and 4th seasons.
  • Oggy's ear in mouse form is identically similar to Mickey Mouse franchise.
  • Excluding the remakes, this could be the last episode from the original art style, as Oggy and the Cockroaches: Next Generation has a different art style.
