Two Bumble Bees and a Wasp 37th episode of the 2nd season of Teen Titans Go!.

Synopsis

When Robin tries to teach Beast Boy to have more respect for money, he ends up learning a lesson.

Why It Should Be Stung By Bees

  1. Bad/Spoilerly Title: Although the title is relevant, it actually spoils the conflict and climax in the episode. Episode titles should never spoil important plot points.
  2. Bad Synopsis: The synopsis claims that Robin was trying to teach Beast Boy about money but in the actual episode, he was teaching all the Titans about money, Beast Boy just catches on slower than the others.
  3. Beast Boy using bees, wasps, bumblebees, etc. as money is nonsensical because of how many times he and the other Titans got stung, they should’ve of been long dead because of all the venom.
    • In reality, he is at his absolute worst, at first he ripped Robin's money just because it is "evil" and proclaims that the latter will not pay on anything until they respect money. Sound familiar? This shows that the former did not learn from that idiom until the end.
  4. Beast Boy and the Titans getting stung repeatedly likely inspired by the ending of the American Dad! episode that aired 5 years after this, Tapped Out and that episode isn't much better. As it involves Francine and Steve getting stung by bees after Francine ate a whole beehive to keep Steve from breastfeeding.
  5. Some glaring plot holes:
    • How was Beast Boy able to keep all those insects without them flying away?
    • How was Beast Boy able to get the whole country to change their currency into bees and bee-type insects? Also, why didn’t he get arrested for proposing a dangerous and possibly lethal option for currency? The whole US is stupid for going along with Beast Boy’s plan, which is very insulting.
  6. This is also a Robin torture episode as the entire middle of episode is just Robin struggling with poverty. It’s very sad to watch.
  7. When Robin finds Beast Boy, he bought the entire Titans Tower and became Donald Trump for some reason. Beast Boy being Trump makes no sense and it was weird given this episode aired one year before Trump was elected to be the president. However, it could be writers insulting Trump’s presidency campaign, which was common before the elections of 2016.
  8. Half Bad Ending: Beast Boy makes Robin do a cringey dance to get bees, he calls the other Titans in so they can laugh at him. He gets Robin two bees then beats up a bee hive and gets infected with venom. He becomes a disgusting, bumpy mess and Robin beats him up and venom flies everywhere. It’s like the writers were trying to imitate the infamous SpongeBob episode, The Splinter. Although Beast Boy gets his comeuppance for treating Robin like dirt and creating bee money as a result.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. At least the episode tried to have a good moral, to be more conscious with your money.
  2. The beginning of the episode was actually decent.
  3. Half Good Ending: Raven calls 911 and Beast Boy gets admitted to the hospital and Beast Boy apologizes to Robin for acting like a jerk to him.
  4. Robin and the other Titans are somewhat likable in this episode.
