A decent way to start the overall mediocre season 3.

"Welcome on Board" (French: "Bienvenue à Bord") is the first episode from season three of Zig & Sharko and the one hundred and fifty-seventh episode overall. It was written and storyboarded by Andrès Fernandez.

Plot

"Marina dreams of sailing the sea… so Zig asks Bernie to build a cruise ship where all her friends can hop aboard! When the boat is taking a dangerous course, Zig and Sharko are too busy bickering as always to save the day… who will come to the rescue?"

Why It's Welcome to the Board

1. It is a nice way to start season 3 of the show, despite still not being a perfect episode.
2. It introduces us to the cruise, and while it isn't the first episode that had a cruise (due to "Loony Cruise" from season 1), it is much better executed than "Loony Cruise" because of much more funny moments and for not being as mean-spirited.
3. The animation is really good even if the style is slightly downgraded from season 2, due to being now animated in Toon Boom Animation.
4. This is the only plan of Zig that lasted for about an entire season, that's being to create the ship for chasing Marina, although it also had given a mediocre season, unfortunately.
5. Likable characters, such as Sharko, Zig, Marina, and Bernie.
6. It is basically the better version of "Loony Cruise", a bad episode from season 1 with the same concept.
7. Hilarous Ending: Zig is ejected from the ship by Sharko due to chasing Marina, howewer they all relax without him, which is quite mean-spirited, even Bernie join to them.

Bad Qualities

1. While good, as mentionned in WIWTTB#7, the ending is pretty mean-spirited because they relax without Zig, even Bernie join, and Zig had the lifeboat back to the ship, while Aldo keep hissed at him.
2. It still count as a rehash from "Loony Cruise", mostly because it's the introduction to the ship and the episode plot is 90% similar, for some it might even appear as a remake.

Trivia

• Despite the show's official Youtube channel only realising the episode on September 19th, 2019, the Xilam Youtube channel realized the French version of the episode as an unlisted video on September 5th of the same year, which could be acessed through the show's page on Xilam's website.
• This is the third time that Zig puts Marina in a lettuce and bacon sandwich, the first two being "Beach Hero" and "The Invader".
• The background of Earth seen from space is similar to the one from "High Wired".
• This is the sixth and last appearance of Marina's rock outside of season one, following "What a Day!!", "Beach Hero", "Back to Civilisation", "A Three Pronged Disaster" and "The Proposal".
  • This is the only time it is seen in season 3, as it is destroyed at the end of the episode.
• A new theme song is introduced in this episode.
• This episode is exactly like "Loony Cruise".
