It’s disgusting to change the status quo just to add a very mean-spirited recurring bit.

Multiple Trick Pony is the 35th episode of the 2nd season of Teen Titans Go!.
Synopsis
Kid Flash wants to join the Titans, but Robin insists that he can’t because he thinks Kid Flash is just a "one-trick pony".
Why It's Not A Multiple Trick
- This episode completely retcons The Date as this episode shows Robin both meeting and establishing Kid Flash as his rival not Speedy and it will be this way for the remainder of the series.
- Speaking of the retcon, Speedy never appeared in the series since The Date outside of a very small cameo during the Justice League Next Top Talent Idol Star Miniseries.
- Speaking of which, Robin is crueler to Kid Flash than he was to Speedy in The Date, details will be explained below.
- The episode, Flashback also undoes everything in this episode as this episode establishes that the Titans meet Kid Flash. However, Flashback reveals that the Titans have known Kid Flash ever since they first formed.
- After the Titans meet Kid Flash, Robin blows off Kid Flash and teaches the Titans about “believing in yourself” but he takes it wrong and teaches the Titans that they can achieve impossible goals.
- Speaking of which, inspired, the Titans reach their dreams and Beast Boy’s is very disgusting, eating 300 burritos in one sitting. We see him do this and get a beer belly and it is pretty gross.
- Robin racing with Kid Flash is tiring.
- Kid Flash steals the Titans from Robin and he becomes insane, talking with his “hand puppets” again. Although he clearly uses it as a coping mechanism, it’s kinda freaky.
- Bad Ending: Robin has another race with Kid Flash but cheats by breaking Kid Flash’s leg with his staff and nobody helps him. This will go on to be a recurring bit of the series. It is very cruel and mean-spirited!
Multiple Trick Qualities
- Raven is right, “believing in yourself” should stop if it puts you in danger.
- The episode feels like a rightful jab at Mary Sues/Gary Stus.
