Power Rangers Dino Thunder (often abbreviated as "PRDT") is the tenth incarnation and twelfth season of Power Rangers franchise, based on the 27th season of Super Sentai - Bakuryuu Sentai Abaranger. It was aired on Jetix and ABC Kids in 2004 and it was produced by BVS Entertainment.

Summary

A soccer player, computer expert, a musician, and a science teacher join forces to become Power Rangers and help save the Earth from mutant dinosauric beings that wish to eradicate all human life and return Earth to the age of the dinosaurs.

Why It Rocks

  1. Tommy Oliver is back, and better than ever. He even got to become the Black Dino Ranger in the episode, Back in Black.
  2. Memorable characters such as the Dino Thunder Rangers (Conner, Ethan, Kira, Tommy and Trent), Hayley, Cassidy (at times), Devin and Anton Mercer.
  3. Great fighting scenes.
  4. The villains are awesome, such as Mesogog and his buddies Elsa and Zeltrax.
  5. The story lines are good such as the White Thunder arc, such as where Trent must deal with the inner struggle of good and evil, similar what Tommy himself once had to do as the evil Green Ranger.
  6. Tommy would even face his past forms (sans the red Turbo Ranger) in the episode Fighting Spirit.
  7. The theme song is very catchy.
  8. It had a crossover with Ninja Storm, S.P.D. and Operation Overdrive (where Kira only appears in).
  9. The episode called "Lost & Found in Translation" based on Bakuryuu Sentai Abaranger was pretty cool, and a celebration to the Super Sentai series.
  10. "Thunder Struck" was a perfect finale, where the Rangers defeat Mesogog and Zeltrax and everything turns back to normal.
  11. This not only was it considered one of the best of the franchise, but it was also considered to be one of the strongest seasons of the Disney Era.

Bad Qualities

  1. Depending on your point of view, Kira and Cassidy can be unlikeable at times.
  2. Some bad episodes.
  3. Some dumb and/or cheesy moments.

Trivia

  • Cassidy Cornell was played by Katrina Devine, who also played Marah in Ninja Storm.
  • "Legacy of Power" celebrates the 500th episode for this and the franchise.
  • This was the first Power Rangers season to be aired on Jetix block on Toon Disney, when it launched on Valentine's Day.
