"Run for Your Ed" is the 22nd episode of Season 4 and the 96th episode of Ed, Edd n Eddy.

Plot

After discovering that their prized "ship-in-a-bottle" is stolen, the Kanker Sisters go to find it (in what Lee calls it, "Kanker-style"), all the while they wreck havoc in the Cul-de-Sac. It turns out that the perpetrator who stole it is Ed, unknown to himself.

Kanker Hissy Fit Qualities

  1. The Kanker Sisters are at their absolute worst in this episode, as they go on a rampage in the Cul-de-Sac (referred to as a "Kanker hissy fit" by Jimmy) and tormenting the other kids throughout the episode. All of this over their possession.
    • Worst of all, they never got their comeuppance for all the bad things they've done in this episode, which makes them Karma Houdinis.
  2. The subplot involving the Eds somewhat drags on a bit as it involves Eddy and Edd trying to get Ed's finger out of the bottle with no avail.
  3. Plot holes:
    • How did Ed managed to eat all the Kankers' food without getting fat like how he got during his sleepwalking/binge-eating in "A Glass of Warm Ed"?
    • How did the Kankers suddenly cause an earthquake just after they demolished a house during their rampage is never explained.
    • If the overview shows Ed and Sarah's house destroyed, then why is it somehow unaffected in the next scene where Sarah is hiding in her room?
  4. The overview of the Cul-de-Sac is a very horrifying sight to behold (especially with the sounds of blaring sirens, helicopters, and the kids yelling in terror) and it can remind viewers of the destruction of their neighborhoods and houses.
  5. Several animation errors and goofs, which clearly shows that this episode feels rushed.
  6. None of the other kids (save for Sarah) have any purpose in this episode other than pointless filler.
  7. Like its second half, "Hand Me Down Ed", it feels like a filler episode.
  8. Overall, this episode is an huge insult to victims that have been involved in violent rampages in real life and suffer from PTSD afterwards, especially when they've lost their homes, family members and friends in these traumatizing events.

Good Qualities

  1. Despite their subplot takes too long, The Eds are the only likable characters in this episode.
  2. Even though what the Kankers have done is inexcusable, Kevin, Sarah, and Jimmy got their karma for the terrible things they've done before (especially Jimmy for wrongfully framing the Eds in the infamous "If It Smells Like an Ed").
  3. Some funny moments, including May's "What number do you dial for 9-1-1?" line.
  4. Good ending: At least the Kankers didn't torture the Eds (which is surprising since they had an extremely bad habit of doing so in other episodes). Instead, Lee just simply pulled Ed's finger out of the bottle without any effort and the sisters finally got their "ship-in-a-bottle" back, though they did start fighting over it.
    • Too bad Eddy's finger got stuck in the sink faucet.
  5. It's good to know that this is one of the very rare episodes that star Kevin and the Kanker Sisters in which none the Eds get beat up by Kevin or get tortured by the Kankers.
  6. The aforementioned "Kanker hissy fit" is never brought up again in the series.
