Yours, Mine and Mine is another episode from season seven of SpongeBob SquarePants.

Plot

When SpongeBob and Patrick receive a toy from Mr. Krabs, they both fight over it.

Why It Hasn't Learned Anything About Sharing

  1. SpongeBob and Patrick acted way too childish by fighting over a "toy" that Mr. Krabs made called the Patty Pal.
    • Speaking of former, since he able create Krabby Patty and the "toy" was only add extra simple materials, why not he didn't try to create for himself.
  2. The episode is written is really childish and overly immature way beyond belief.
    • Here is a good example of this: Patrick gets denied by the fact that his Krabby Kiddy Meal requires money, and of course, he starts crying over having no money like a whiny spoiled brat.
  3. Patrick is at his worst in this episode as he became hypocritical and had his unlikablity taken up to the extreme.
    • He refused to share the licensed toy with SpongeBob, his best friend.
    • At first, he thinks "Sharing is fun." But the next morning, he refuses to share the toy with him and starts being unreasonably selfish, making Patrick an inconsistent hypocrite.
    • SpongeBob is technically the owner of the toy since Patrick used his money from the wallet that he stole to pay for it.
    • Patrick promised SpongeBob to pass the Patty Pal over to him but the day after, he refuses so he could play with it more all day and all night long, which shows that he screwed him over just because he wanted a turn.
    • The next morning, he lies and said that he is not home and is washing his "hair", even though you could hear his voice and he dosent have hair, just armpits.
    • When Gary said that Patrick was a non-sharer, he permanently removes him from his friend list, which is very stupid to do and it comes off as a bad attempt at a joke.
      • Gary didn't seem to care because his reaction to Patrick's banishment from his friend list sums up everyone's reaction to this episode as a whole.
      • It's also illogical because Patrick and Gary are cousins, as revealed on the family tree in "Rule of Dumb" from season four.
    • He can't handle how many minutes/hours SpongeBob can play with the toy and only gave him one second.
    • His fight with SpongeBob over the toy went from Squidward's house to all the way to the Krusty Krab.
  4. Horrible Air Date: In the USA, the episode released in 9/11.
    • Selfishly ate the toy, declaring that "if can't have it, no one can". But since that he ate the toy, he technically got to have it all to himself, which contradicts his logic.
    • In the end, when Mr. Krabs give both him and SpongeBob another toy, he steals SpongeBob's wallet to pay for the toy again, which led to the quote "Have you learned nothing about sharing?"
    • The mocking SpongeBob face he made while hypocritically mocking him is extremely punchable.
  5. Mr. Krabs stole a Krabby Patty from a customer just so he could make the toy, which is a very scummy thing of him to do. Sure, Mr. Krabs is a cheapskate, but this is a new low, even for his standards.
  6. This episode tries so hard to put SpongeBob in the wrong, but fails because he all he wanted was a turn to play with the toy his boss made for them.
  7. The episode doesn't even portray Patrick in the episode he is supposed to act in, let alone a kid take a good look at this episode and think that this type of behavior is okay, when it actually isn't.
  8. Inconsistency: Krabby Patties cost $2.99. However, SpongeBob says that a kiddie meal costs 1 dollar more ($3.99), then Squidward says "That will be $4.99."
  9. Plot holes:
    • The Patty Pal is actually a real food so it will be rotten over time.
    • When Patrick eats the toy, the toy has straws as limbs which it could be choking hazard, so how is Patrick didn't choke with the straws?.
  10. Bad moral: Sharing is wrong and acting like a selfish spoiled brat is okay.
  11. The title of this episode is a poor reference to the infamous 2005 film made by the same channel in its movie counterpart Yours, Mine & Ours.
  12. Bad ending: Patrick "borrows" SpongeBob's wallet to pay for the Patty Pals and had the nerve to say to him "Have you learned nothing about sharing?".

Redeeming Qualities

  1. SpongeBob (despite acting immature), Squidward, Sandy, Gary and Mr. Krabs (despite stealing a krabby patty from a customer in order to make the toy) are all likable characters.
  2. Sandy did at least try to teach SpongeBob and Patrick why they should share the toy.
  3. At least SpongeBob and Patrick got their own toys at the end (not that Patrick deserved another one, but he at least won't ask SpongeBob to share his when he already has one now).
  4. Squidward does has some funny moments such as bluntly saying "I hate them." as SpongeBob and Patrick both fight their way into his house.
  5. The milkshake like got used later again in the episode "License to Milkshake" from season nine.
  6. Though still unlikable, Patrick does have his own funny moments, such as:
    • "I'm not home, please leave a message! Beeeeep..."
    • Him having a dance with Patty Pal.
    • And despite it being hypocritical, his line "Have you learned nothing about sharing?" is pretty funny.
  7. The design for Patty Pal is pretty creative and cute as it's a reminiscent of the Pipsqueak Patty from the season three episode "Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy V".

Reception

People say this is one of the worst episodes of the series along with episodes like "A Pal for Gary", "What Ever Happened to SpongeBob?", "One Coarse Meal", "Ink Lemonade", "The Splinter", "Fungus Among Us", "Stuck in the Wringer", "Good Neighbors", and "To Love a Patty". While PhantomStrider finds it to be the worst Patrick episode, and this is Alpha Jay's least favorite episode, PIEGUYRULZ finds it to be a Meh episode.
