"Scary GodCouple" is the sixth episode in the ninth season of The Fairly OddParents.

Plot

Foop becomes Vicky's anti-fairy godparent. Vicky and Foop terrorize Timmy and the kids of Dimmsdale. Foop tells Vicky that the reason Timmy has thwarted her all these years is because he has fairy godparents. If they can destroy the fairies, no one will be able to stop them.

Scary OddQualities

  1. Vicky at her worst, as she wishes for terrible things for little kids.
    • Similar how Crocker's mother in "Fairly Old Parent", Vicky is a bit too old to have a fairy godparent and this breaks one of the show's biggest rules. But she has an anti-fairy godparent.
      • Even she does get her companeunce at the end, it may come across as bad and nonsense.
  2. Like all episodes that feature Foop after "Anti-Poof", Foop's parents (Anti-Cosmo and Anti-Wanda) was nowhere to be seen. Instead we got The Anti-Fairy Council.
  3. Just like most of the Season 9 and 10 episodes, Mr. Crocker and Mr. Turner are shoehorned in as usual.
    • Speaking of Mr. Turner, his side-plot that he was stuck with Dinkleberg felt very forced.
    • And Mr. Crocker's part is that he helps Vicky and Foop (the two come into his house), and he gives the two one of his objects.
  4. Weird title card as it shows that Vicky getting married with Foop, despite the fact that Vicky is a teenager.
  5. TBA.
  6. This episode can be a bit boring at times, especially in the scenes of Vicky's house.
  7. The scene where Foop says to Vicky that Timmy has fairly godparents goes against Da Rules. Again, this is season 9, so the writers no longer care about Da Rules.
  8. This episode, similar to how "Fairly Odd Pet" (ironically both "Fairly Odd Pet" and "Scary GodCouple" are in season 9, where "Scary GodCouple" premiered seven and a half months after "Fairly OddPet" premiered on March 23, 2013, and "Scary GodCouple" premiered on October 19, 2013, and both episodes have Sparky in them, which ironically "Fairly OddPet" is Sparky's debut episode) is a bad episode, this episode can be considered to be a pretty good downgrade from all of the great/amazing double-length episodes.
    • In fact, it's not helping by the fact that two double-length episodes in season 9, "Fairly Old Parent" and "Man's Worst Friend", would be considered to be bad episodes by most people and most The Fairly OddParents fans.
      • Not to mention, you can tell the writers were putting effort into the "Scary GodCouple" script. It's not helping at all that it's another average double-length episode, similar to "Love Struck!", "Timmy's Secret Wish!", and "Fairly Odd Pet".
    • Since it's was a final episode that Butch Hartman himself as the director only, it's ended on the very average, if not weak note on his director career on the episodes.

Fairly Qualities

  1. Having an anti-fairies for the bad kids as their scary godparents is very interesting idea, despite the fact that anti-fairies cannot be fairy godparents for kids.
  2. Good animation and voice acting as usual.
  3. Timmy and his fairies (Cosmo, Wanda and Poof) are likable characters.
    • Despite being pointless and sorta shoehorned, Spanky is likable as well.
    • Foop also can be tolerable as well.
    • Mr. Crocker is also more tolerable here, especially since he's more tolerable than Mr. Turner in "Scary GodCouple".
  4. Vicky does get her companeunce at the end (despite it come across as bad and nonsense).
  5. Some funny moments.
    • "Yay, I'm traumatized!"
  6. TBA.

Trivia

  • This is the first appearance of the Anti-Fairy Council in the series.
  • In this episode, the soles of Vicky's shoes are shown to be gray with lines on them instead of the normal black.
  • Similar to how rump roast is a weakness to fairies, the weakness for anti-fairies is chicken cordon bleu while the weakness for fairy dogs is lobster bisque.
  • Although anti-fairies cannot be fairy godparents for kids, it is shown that they can be assigned to bad kids as their scary godparents.
  • This was the last episode to premiere in 2013.
    • Out of all the Season 9 episodes that were the last to premiere in a specific calendar year (not counting the show's finale), this episode premiered the earliest, having aired on October 19th.
  • Foop has revealed to Vicky that Timmy has fairy godparents, although her memory seems to be wiped of them, because in Stage Fright, her next appearance she does not seem to have have any knowledge about Timmy's fairies, although she does interact with Poof in Certifiable Super Sitter.
  • It's revealed that there is a stadium named after Bucky McBadbat in Dimmsdale.
    • This is also the second time we see a Bucky McBadbat Stadium, the first was Fairy Idol.
  • Poof was shown to be able to say, "rump roast".
  • The monkey that taught ballet class said he ironically slipped on a banana peel. This is surprisingly true, because common monkeys eat bananas.
  • The Crocker pot appeared before in When Losers Attack, but it looked different.
  • Some people confuse this episode for Scary Godparents, mostly likely the words "Scary God" and the title card music was used.
  • This is the second time Foop and Vicky interact. They first met in "When Losers Attack" - which is referenced by Vicky.
  • When Vicky was trying to get Timmy in trouble by his dad and Timmy reads his magazine, it's a reference of Party of Three when they did the same thing.
  • This is the last episode Butch Hartman directed.
