Shock humor (Sometimes referred to as "Shock Value") is a type of comedic structure used to shock and or gross out the audience, combining gross-out humor, adult jokes, and black comedy altogether. It's certainly not a trope you would find in a kids' show.

Examples of Shock Humor
- Tom Bunk of MAD Magazine dabbles heavily in this trope, with his most recognizable comic being "The Zit", a comic where a preteen begins to pop a zit in a bathroom, before bursting, gushing out huge gallons of puss, organs, and other stuff (including a human skeleton) as the boy starts to yell in horror while drowning in a mixture of those aforementioned things.
- "Shock jocks" are a form of Radio DJ that uses this trope; some of the most notable of them include Howard Stern, Don Imus, Opie and Anthony, and Rusty Humphries.
- Encyclopedia Dramatica is a website where this trope is heavily used. The most infamous examples are the "Offended", "The Pain Series", and "Reporting Un-Islamic Content" pages.
- A musical example of this trope could easily be Anal Cunt (AxCx) (A grindcore band consisting mainly of Seth Putnam, Tim Morse, and Josh Martin), even reading some of their song titles would be labeled as shock value some of the most shocking includes...
