Deleting templates

Hello SuperStreetKombat; you may remember me from the old site(s). We are co-admins now.

I wanted to bring up the deletion of two pages: Template:NSFW and Template:NSFW. I agree with this however there was a missed step. In the delete interface there is a link to what pages use the template, the feature is Special:WhatLinksHere. NSFW had 25 items and NSFL had 9. It's important to remove them completely including from all pages they were used to avoid broken formatting. It hasn't been an issue since the cache didn't update and I have cleaned them up including categories, but please keep this in mind for template deletions in the future. Similar applies to moving categories (you might know this but I mention for others to see as I've seen it happen), moving a category does not move its contents. It must be done manually.

I'll look into a mass text replacement tool like ReplaceText that might help, otherwise it must be done manually for now.

I do agree with merging NSFW and NSFL into Mature as they are redundant, I just wanted to highlight the extra steps of fully removing templates. The special pages are filled with errors that we don't need and it's time to get a hang on them. Speaking of which, what would you think of making the move permission an autopatrolled feature? Nearly every page deletion yesterday was caused by people not moving pages properly. If not autopatrolled it needs to become a feature of autoconfirmed but either way another admin's input on this would be ideal, and any 2c that has something to add for that matter including CJ. I've also enabled a blogging extension, it is not the same as from the Miraheze era but it's a start. --Raidarr (talk)

How Szczypak's private reception wiki was like?

Basically, it was a reskin of Crappy Games Wiki back when it was on Miraheze; it had the exact same layout, the exact same main page, almost the exact same templates, and the pages there were copied and pasted from the old CGW. The color scheme was pink, I believe, instead of green. The wiki also had a blacklist of users banned from there and it included TigerBlazer, Blazikeye535, GyrineZ, Marxo Grouch, Portrock, Blad/ZeusDeeGoose, etc. and users like you, me, and Tali were in the neutral list.

I wish I could've taken screenshots of Szczypak's wiki before it was closed, but at least I saw enough of what it was like, since I got invited there for some reason, despite the fact that I never once contributed there, and then Szczypak revoked my membership rights there eventually before it was closed. Actually, there WAS a reason why those users were blacklisted, and it wasn't a very good one: they were blacklisted simply because some of them were the ones that started that RfC to close Qualitipedia back on Miraheze last year while the others on the blacklist were allegedly "major supporters" of said RfC. Sorry, but that page seemed like it'd been suffering from vandalism for the past 2 months or so, so I had no choice but to lock it to admins-only as a more preventive messure against vandals. Yes, those stupid "IGetG" accounts, (is what they're called) they've done that to mew a few times on the characters wikis before (and which, me and Spruiker also had to block these annoying things), not only that, but they've also had a history with abusing multiple accounts and excessive vandalism, the former is their pathetic attempt at doing the latter on the music wikis, and speaking of their excessive vandalism on the music wikis (which are Excellent Music Wiki and Horrible Music Wiki), they've abused multiple accounts several times just to excessively vandalize articles even more, it was such a problem that I had to reach out to FullInterTurn (who is the bureaucrat of the music wikis) had to block these things several times for vandalism and abusing multiple accounts; and given that Spruiker even saw these things abused multiple accounts and that they wouldn't stop doing it, Spruiker had to ask InterTurn for admin rights so he can help stop those excessive sockpuppets that they do on the music wikis, in fact, whenever they vandalize an article, it had to be protected indefinitely because of that crap, those "IGetG" alts were also extremely out of control that I also needed admin rights for that wiki to stop these annoying alts, they've also vandalized pages I made, such as the "Rude Boy (Rihanna song)", "Kill Bill (SZA)" (which they also threatened me and said that I'll be "blocked" if I revert their edits for a good reason). "Diamonds (Rihanna song)" (a page that I recreated), and what those said sockpuppets were trying to do is basically put Caillou music (Caillou's Rock n Roll Band to be specific) on there, despite Caillou's infamy and the bad things he did in his show. They've also made over 50 alts on there, which is already enough to show that they've abused multiple accounts and never left me alone ever since August, if you look at the block log on the Excellent Music Wiki, you'll see how many times FullInterTurn, Spruiker and I blocked these things, but somehow they kept on coming back, and because of their vandalism on several pages (if I recall), they gave us no choice but to protect the articles from excessive vandalism, if you wanna me, Spruiker and InterTurn out on stopping these annoying alts, I would really appreciate that, also, if you see any of those "IGetG" accounts or anything simulator to that on the character wikis, please block them for me due to their excessive vandalism and abusing multiple accounts, I don't want them getting on the characters wikis to cause trouble (even though they haven't moved the pages on there and just the music wikis). I added it just because A, there are some people out there that think that this show is a rip off of this show (which it’s not as they just have a similar premise but the latter doesn’t make it truly a rip off of the former) so just in case someone wanted to point that out and B, I originally made that edit on the original QP wiki's and wanted some of my edits moved to here, but if you don’t want it than I won’t cause another edit war cause I don’t want to turn into my past self when I was new to the wiki's. Well, how about some advice: don't add a warning saying not to point out certain things that shouldn't be said in a page unless another user or two has been adding it constantly; a few admins would do that too back when the Reception Wikis were on Fandom, like Unnamedgoon, for example, who got so fed up with people adding a Bad Quality about a game having a toxic fanbase that he had to add a warning not to do so, so perhaps follow his example.

Besides, I'm not a big fan of adding warnings or protections of certain pages as a quote-unquote "precaution" since such outcomes are less than likely to even occur. Not to mention that so many admins would lock a few pages for no reason other than "just in case" that doing this made a lot of them look paranoid, especially the likes of AlvaroNovaes and Vicious187. The fuss about headers

SSK, per comments on and this blog and the rules I thought it was clear particularly fussing about custom headers for average pages, negative sections and other arbitrarily chosen places was not a popular idea and to be avoided (especially as it's never made its way to the rules and I see no reason to change that either). It seems there has been several regressions to treating this opinion like a hard rule and I'd like for it to stop, it brings virtually nothing to the table except frustration for editors unless the header is exceedingly poor. --raidarr (💬, admin) 09:38, March 8, 2024 (UTC)

I'd also like to mention that I lost a damn large amount of progress on my sandbox because of one of these changes. Considering I was working on my page alone and didn't ask for any help here or on the discord, I feel very insulted that this overreach resulted in the detriment of my work. @Raidarr Actually, it's not that I'm making a "fuss" about custom headers; it's just that a lot of those headers that MisterSandmanAU added had improper grammar because all of the first letters in them were lower cased while every other page on this wiki had uppercased headings. Plus, those custom headers that MSAU put in "Redeeming" and "Bad Qualitied" sections had "Why It" headers when they should only be used for "Why It Sucks/Rocks" headers like every other page here. Heck, other users like Batboy234 and TheMoonandEarth changed those headers on MSAU's pages (most particularly the Batman and Robin page), so why can't I do the same? @MisterSandmanAU I was only trying to make the custom headers on the "Why It Sucks" and "Why It Rocks" sections by capitalizing the first letters since doing so made them look more professionally written and since every other page is like that, too. Also, why don't you want others to edit your sandboxes or even pages? It's called helping. I let people my sandbox and pages, and I don't mimd in the slightest. What MSAU is trying to say that he was mad because he was in the middle of editing the plot section on his sandbox, and that your edits caused some conflict, therefore, removing a lot of stuff he wrote beforehand. It's not that he's trying to forbid others from editing, since he didn't mind when other users helped him in his Batman and Robin page. That's why he's mad. Also SSK, just because a few users tried to change the average pages' headings, as well as the "Redeeming Qualities" or "Bad Qualities" section doesn't mean that they're getting away with what they've done. Because if we go back on topic, not only are these custom headings "limitations" you mention not part of the rules, but they're also not an issue to begin with as I, Tali, and what most other users said before. Most of the people that have problems with these custom headers are only the vocal minority, and that those people you mentioned that were also seeing this as a problem already retired a long time ago. So if the majority of the community wants the headers to be more creative and not have the generic ones on the average pages/the opposite quality header, maybe it's about time you let go of seeing this as a problem. After all, I do recall that back when my friend Arctic01 introduced custom headers on TFAHW back in Miraheze, she didn't disallow users to keep the other quality heading/average heading as the generic one, as she was aware back then that most critics and haters dislike it when the same generic ones are being used in the page. Look, like I said, this has nothing to do with people adding custom headers to average pages or me wanting them to completely stop that; it's just that MisterSandmanAU kept writing custom headers improperly by writing the first letters in them in lower cases instead of upper cases, making the pages look poorly written and inconsistent with other pages on this wiki. Plus, MSAU also adds "Why It" headers to "Bad" and "Redeeming Qualities" when they're supposed to be for "Why It Sucks/Rocks" sections. Batboy and MoonandEarth weren't removing custom headers from pages in general; they were just trying to fix up the pages that MisterSandmanAU because of the things I've just mentioned. You know, I already clarified why I made those edits as of late, and yet people keep assuming that I did it because I wanted custom headings on certain sections banned even though I already stated that I was only adding more proper grammar to them. My concern didn't have a lot to do with the grammar and more to do with the un customizing of other headers. If other people are doing it as well then you know full well that multiple people doing something incorrectly doesn't make it correct, so obviously a clarification at wiki level is going to have to be made to put an end to unfounded header micromanagement. Again I'm not particularly bothered about the grammar although the caps can look dumb at times. A battle for another time. I did ultimately recommend MSAU on discord consider putting his pages together as blogs because he feels very strongly about having written them and pages in the mainspace are kinda meant to be shredded and made into aggregate perspectives. SSK is correct, there should be broader discussion for any new staff first. Mods can be trialed however; if SSK agrees we can give him say, a couple months term and see how he does, made permanent or boosted to admin depending how he does.

While there isn't an urgent need for more mods the fact is that I am only here when I occasionally get to it or am poked to show up and CJ is gone/retired, so no day to day bureaucrats: not the best position.

Depending on a few things I may go for establishing this wiki as a part of netpedia proper so it at least has a consistent upper management. More admins, specifically proactive ones would be nice though I don't know of any good candidates for that. They'd need to prove themselves as mods.
