Films that flopped at the box office, good and bad.

One common misconception is that if the box office only slightly exceeds its production budget, it's no longer considered a box office bomb anymore. That is actually false, as a portion of that box office goes to the theaters and the rest to the companies, with losses reported by newsfeeds working in the film industry. For example, 150$ million against a budget of $120 million is still a huge box office loss, as that doesn't factor in marketing budget which is separate from the production budget. On movies with a production budget of over $100 million, they have very steep break-even points to where they require an average of 2.5x its budget to break even both production and marketing.

Ever wondered why many films got performed so badly at the box office and lose money, because of the either troubled production, terrible marketing or the fact that audiences would rather watch other films in theatres?
