The Ren & Stimpy Show: Buckeroo$! is a video game based on The Ren & Stimpy Show. It was first released by THQ for the Nintendo Entertainment System in November 1993, with a port on SNES released in April 1995.

Both versions of the game were published by THQ and developed by Imagineering Inc. (who also developed Space Cadet Adventures). Much like Veediots!, the game's levels are based on episodes of the show, namely Space Madness, Out West, and Robin Höek.

Story

The game's story starts with Stimpy making something in his laboratory. This new invention is the Gametron 5000 Moneymaker, a machine that gives you money for every video game you complete. Stimpy tells Ren of his new invention, and they sit down and try to complete every game.

Why It's an EEDIOT!! and Won't Win Any Money

General

  1. Both of those games are a massive downgrade from Veediots!, which was a pretty good game, especially for a Ren & Stimpy game, especially the SNES version. Those downgrades come from the graphics, the gameplay, the controls, and even the soundtrack itself (at least for the SNES version).
  2. Extremely poor game designs, both of them had a level design that didn't work with the controls and due to these major issues, this held them back from being a truly great platformer, it's a shame because if they would get decent controls and slightly reworked level design, then they wouldn't have been this bad.
  3. Once again, the story is incredibly poor, and while it had an interesting plot, it is ruined by the fact that there are barely any cutscenes because of being incredibly generic, even for a Ren & Stimpy game, this isn't even helped by the horrible ending given at the end.
  4. Unlike most Ren & Stimpy game, there isn't even that much humor and even the cutscenes are unfunny, which is incredibly shocking for Ren & Stimpy standards, and not even the moment where Ren says "You Eediot" is funny by this game, unlike most other games.
  5. It is another example of a game that looks promising but in reality, it is once again a terrible game that is extremely frustrating and tedious to play.

NES

  1. Poor controls that are clunky and almost as terrible as the NES version of The Simpsons games trilogy by Acclaim, since when you don't run, the controls are extremely slow and much more clunky, and they also are a bit unresponsive; in fact, they are even worse than Veediots! on SNES (which was the prequel of this game, but However, Veediots! was still a decent game on SNES).
    • The controls are way too fast when you run, and due to how bad the level design is, it makes it a huge problem for the platforming, and this isn't helped by the poor collision detection, speaking of the platforming...
    • The platforming controls are much worse than in Space Cadet Adventures since the jumps are extremely fast (in a bad way), and the fact that the jump controls are unresponsive make it everything worse, and it is also ruined by the fact that the platforming sections are always poorly designed, though it isn't as terrible as the SNES version.
    • They are incredibly slippery to the point of being almost impossible to control, much like X and Zero from Mega Man X6, since when you run, if you stop, it will not stop directly but will instead take half a second to stop, which make the game an absolute chore to play, even if it isn't as horrible as the SNES version.
    • When you don't run, the controls are even worse than usual, since they are incredibly slow and even more sluggish due to feeling like a turtle that walks slowly, this forces you to play with the run button for the entire game so that it is more fun to play and also for making the difficulty less of a problem.
    • All in all, it makes the game even more difficult to control in emulators for phones or even on PC.
  2. Awful checkpoint system, there aren't many checkpoints, and due to how bad the difficulty spike is in this game, that is going to be a big problem. The first level is already a victim of this.
    • At times you had checkpoints but they always placed you either way too far from where you died, or it would make you spawn where there are a lot of enemies that want to kill you, similar to Doraemon on the Famicom (albeit a decent game)
  3. There are fall damages in a platform game, which not only doesn't fit the platforming genre but also makes not only the speedrun hard to do but also the game harder than it is supposed to be. This is also extremely annoying since if you like to play a game fast, then forget about this version of the game since for most of the levels, you will have to focus on not being too high to not die and get fall damages. This is why the NES version is mediocre and why it had fake difficulty, but thankfully, the SNES version doesn't seem to have those.
    • The fact that this mechanic made into this game is already a stupid idea because much like Tom and Jerry on the SNES, the levels aren't designed with this in mind, and thus this make it easy to die from that, this is even more annoying when you speedrun this game and that the fall damages need to ruin everything, you will die a lot because of that, not because of the enemies (well, at least for some levels).
  4. While the graphics are somewhat fine, they can also look really subpar at times, such as in the space levels or the color palette, which is terrible even for THQ NES game standards; even Space Cadet Adventures on Game Boy had better graphics than this, and that game was released in 1992.
    • The sprites, while decent, are kind of cheap and thus look subpar compared to the games released at the time, with washed-out colors, being undetailed, and feeling like Ren & Stimpy meet South Park (in a bad way, of course), and the sprites themself could look like an updated Game Boy game graphics due to how cheap they look.
    • Some of the backgrounds are completely subpar to look at and some of them don't even look like they come from the Ren & Stimpy franchise, such as in the Far West level where it looks more like a rejected Lucky Luke game on the NES, or one of the levels that look like it's could have been in a bad Mario game.
  5. Horrible hit detection that is somehow worse than the SNES version, which already had a terrible hit detection. This is especially true with Ren's slap moves which are extremely difficult to do without taking damage or even hitting the enemies.
    • At times the enemies might hit you when you didn't even make contact with them first, this means that the hit-detection is slightly delayed, and thanks to how poorly designed this game is, it makes it difficult to not happen, kind of like Frogger 2 on the Xbox 360 which had an even worse hit-detection than this game.
    • Stimpy attacks also had a terrible hit-detection that is extremely short and is overall so bad that it may beat Space Cadet Adventures level of horrible hit-detection, due to not only being hard to hit the enemies with but also because his attacks are also small, which doesn't help the hit-detection problem of this game, this is even similar to Rocky attack from Rocky and Bullwinkle on NES (which was even worse than this game)
  6. Awful level design that is way worse than Veediots! or even Space Cadet Adventures (though the former had decent level design), since there are so many sections where the platforming is annoying, and of course, the level design isn't designed with the fall damage mechanics in mind, so you will have a lot of trouble with the levels that are full of platforming phases, and it will rely on luck, making it for a really frustrating game and it's fun being wasted and killed, and the controls are bad mostly because of the level design that isn't designed with these in mind.
  7. The title screen look absolutely horrendous, despite being faithful to the show, since it looks unofficial and feels like it belongs in a bootleg game, such as a Hummer Team one, not to mention that it is similar to the one used in Space Cadet Adventure.
    • The color palette is also horrendous for that screen and looks like it was taken from the Mega Man DOS games, to the point of making the characters faces beyond recognition, such as Ren, who had pink skin, and Stimpy, who had orange skin.
    • The characters faces are not only ruined by the color palette but also by the lack of details, to the point that Space Cadet Adventures had much more detailed faces for Ren and Stimpy than this game.
      • Due to this, Ren's face in the title screen looks extremely disturbing even by the show standards and since the details are so poor on this screen, it makes this even worse than it already is.
      • This is because due to the coloring being awful, Ren looks like he has no emotions in it, and he looks like he is a dead person who lives, and no this isn't even a joke.
    • Not to mention that the title screen doesn't even last 2 seconds, since after they showed the logo, it went immediately to the credits of the game. Speaking of that...
  8. For some weird reasons, after they showed the title screen, after 1 second, it directly showed the game credits, much like the Home Alone 2 game.
  9. The Madness levels are terrible, but not as horrible as in the SNES version. In these levels, you need to guide Ren to the end of the level and protect him, but the problem is that it's frustrating and tedious, especially for the last ones.
    • Also, if Ren isn't in the exit door, then you can't finish the level unless you bring him back, which makes it even more tedious when there are a lot of awful enemy placements or anything like that.
    • There's so many obstacles that Ren can destroy, and if he does, sometime it isn't that bad, but sometime it might be problematic, such as the 2x button that make the game completely impossible to control unless you stop it.
    • Here the flaws of each Space Madness stages:
      • Madness I isn't the worst but it is of course very bland, since there's only one enemy to kill, and you can beat it easily, it is the best of the bunch howewer.
      • Madness II is pretty much the beginning of the crap of what these stages make you going though, since it is confusing the first time you are in this level, and there are eraser button everywhere, also it is kind of hard to make Ren going in the warp, because of the poor programming, though when you know the stage, it isn't so hard to get though, especially compared to the one that will follow.
      • Madness III is easily the worst of them all, since it is filled with one of the most confusing level of not only the Ren & Stimpy games, but also one of the most confusing level in a NES game, because there's so many tunnels to choose that make it confusing of where the door is, and this could even make you potentially lose Ren, this isn't helped by the fact that the tunnels are all over the place and that Ren might get in them without even noticing it.
      • Madness IV is not as horrible as Madness III, but it is a little confusing and due to this, you might lose Ren a lot, especially in one of the place that include a required jump for Ren, if he didn't make it, then you might had to restart all over.
  10. The game is extremely short since it lasts only 40 minutes and then you beat the game, and this is not helped by the fact that the game features absolutely zero replay values after you beat it.
  11. One of the button in the Madness level had a horrible effect if it's on, since it is extremely hard to the eyes, and if you suffer from being epilleptic, then you might had a horrible time after this occurs, much like the final boss in Cheesy.
  12. As expected from a Ren & Stimpy game, the game is extremely frustrating at times due to either the fall damages, the clunky controls, or even the horrible hit detection that makes the game a real nightmare to beat, especially if you go to collect everything.
  13. Despite being way better than the SNES version, the soundtrack is very bland and generic, but this is to be expected from a NES THQ game, though it isn't as bad as some other awful THQ games on the console.
    • It is also very forgettable due to how bland it is, such as the level of music that can be forgotten very easily, likely because you have listened to better-sounding music than this game.
  14. Speaking of the soundtrack, for some reason, it is entirely reused from Space Cadet Adventures, which is incredibly lazy, not to mention that even the sound effects are ripped off, making this game feel like a reskin of it or a direct sequel, if not an expansion of that game.
  15. The fact that you start with a Space Madness level doesn't make any sense because this game isn't space-themed, unlike Space Cadet Adventures, and also it doesn't make any sense because in the cutscenes before it, we don't see the main duo being stuck in space, this could add a big plot hole.

SNES

  1. The soundtrack is even worse than the NES version since it consists of butchered songs from the show that either sound mediocre or downright awful, such as the Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy song that plays for almost the entire game, which might make you go insane.
    • In fact, it is so bad and repetitive that you might want to stop playing this game or even want to turn off your sound from the TV. It also doesn't help that the game is extremely long for such a piece of short music like this. It is also so bad to the point that after finishing this game, you might hate the Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy song due to how much it got repeated.
    • Not to mention that it also had one of, if not the absolute worst rendition of the theme song, which is a massive downgrade from Veediots and especially Time Warp, in which these games had awesome renditions, but here it is incredibly bad; even the Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy song is better in Time Warp.
    • While only one music can work for some games, such as Bubble Bobble and Dragon Ball: Shenron no Nazo (even though the latter was also an awful game), this game however doesn't work with this for a second, it doesn't help that the music is Happy Happy Joy Joy, in which it is a short song but also that sound more like a victory theme than a level theme.
  2. While they are somewhat responsive, the controls have one fatal flaw that keeps them from being decent to the point of being incredibly awful, which is that they are extremely slow to control and can make some of the platforming extremely frustrating, especially with the moving platforms that are extremely annoying here.
    • Not to mention that the game is quite clunky to control, even more than the Rocky and Bullwinkle game on both the Sega Genesis and SNES (which in turn was developed by the same developer) since at times you will never even get free move with the jumps or anything due to how bad they are, and considering how horrible the level design is, it only make this even worse than it's already is.
    • While it was said that it is responsive, the controls sometimes are incredibly unresponsive and Ren (or Stimpy) will feel heavily unresponsive sometimes you might jump but there's a slight delay that makes them jump after half a second, which is an absolute problem considering how hard the game is, and that the poor controls would make the game unplayable, thanks to this.
      • This is an even bigger problem in the Space Madness levels that are so horribly designed (even though even with good controls, it would be still horrible) since Stimpy somehow controls even more unresponsive and clunky than Ren, and this will not be helped by his big sprite and animation, and this is where the game ends up being more unplayable or a nightmare than a real good game that you want to play.
  3. Absolutely awful level design that is slightly worse than the NES version since it contains a lot of unbeviably awful platform placements and even some sections of the game that are extremely frustrating, annoying, and tedious to the point of making The Simpsons games on Game Boy look easier by comparison.
  4. Awful enemy placements that are even worse than in Veediots, since they are sometimes placed near the place you need to jump on, for example, which is incredibly annoying and frustrating. It is also the main reason why the level design stinks and how frustrating it is.
  5. Absolutely horrible ending: Ren and Stimpy won $47 million dollars, which is fine from here, but after that when Ren tells Stimpy that they will be back soon for another adventure, he cries and instead of trying to make him happy again, he say what he could do to before the next game adventure, in which it almost look like Ren make fun of Stimpy, also after this part, Stimpy give most of it to another peoples for a horrible reason, after that, Ren say to Stimpy You Eediot!, meaning that the whole game was completely pointless to complete and that all your efforts were for nothing.
  6. The Space Madness levels are terrible and are atrociously horrible to play, and they are somehow even worse than the NES version, as they are extremely long, have padding and fillers in them, have many awful platforms and enemy placements, and even have hazards in them, making them incredibly tedious.
    • Also, they are the main reason why this game is this long and has a pointlessly long length, since some of them last 10 minutes! We kid you not!!!!!
    • Those levels are so horribly designed that this is even to a point that they will be confusing mazes or even confusing levels that will make you have a horrible time knowing where you must go or where Ren is, and keep in mind that those are very long, so this situation makes this even worse than it's already is.
    • For the platform placements, it is miles worse than the one in the NES version since sometimes if you fail, you might have to restart a lot of the level parts, to the point of making them even more annoying and painful and also making them longer than they already are. It's so bad that it's even ruining the entire game (not that this game was good though).
    • There are pits everywhere in those levels, especially the latter ones, but due to how horrible those levels are designed, that will make not losing Ren a massive torture for you and probably is the absolute worst gameplay in a Ren & Stimpy game ever (yes, even more than the already horrible Time Warp, and the pits are huge, so except losing Ren a lot if you had a hard time to either understand those levels or to stop Ren from falling, and this will make you mad, and this would probably be a reason of you to rage quit this game.
    • Not to mention that the item that is needed so Ren jump is nerfed from the NES version, since Ren jump is horribly short, this lead to you having to hit him with your attack but due to how bad the controls and overall hit-detection is, then it make things so much worse and sometime if you lose it, then it is restarted for another horribly tedious backtracking section to get this jump right again.
    • Not only that but those sections are somehow even worse than the backtracking and the escort missions of Rocky Modern Life: Spunky's Dangerous Day also on the SNES, and while that game isn't great and tedious at best, at least the level design in that game wasn't as atrocious as it is in those levels of Ren & Stimpy: Buckeroo$! for the SNES.
  7. The game, despite the boring gameplay, is extremely frustrating for so many reasons to the point that we cannot even list them all, this goes from the poor controls to the horrible hit-detection, the awful platforming sections and especially the Space Madness levels, this version is even more frustrating than both the NES version of this game, and Veediots!, and while those games we're frustrating, they at least got some fun to them, especially Veediots! that managed to be one of the few good Ren & Stimpy game released out there, this make it even sadder that this is the last Ren & Stimpy game considering that it end with a frustrating game that is almost unplayable and also it end on a game with extreme fillers to it with it's levels, as stated before with the Space Madness levels that are the worst offender.
    • As stated before, Space Madness levels are extremely frustrating, see the pointers that talk about it for more details.
    • The combat is the main cause for why the enemies are so annoying, as it is very terrible, is so poorly made due to how awful the hit-detection is, and not to mention that you will had a hard time hitting them due to that problem, and this might be one of the main cause of the combat being frustrating to do even when compared to other Ren & Stimpy games out there.
    • A lot of the enemies are just placed in awful places as stated before, but sometimes those are the worst enemies since some of them are difficult to dodge, and sometimes when you get up the enemy instantly attacks you so that you get a chance to die, this is especially annoying in the later half of the game, and it even happens in the first level.
    • The platforming is extremely frustrating due to being terrible but this is also especially noticeable when it get to moving platforms, since those are the most frustrating to land on, and due to how horrible the collision detection is, it makes it even worse and thus, this is why the game is rather almost unplayable at times.
  8. The gameplay quickly becomes boring due to a lack of varieties, and due to being overall slow, tedious, and also not that fun to play, as well as being extremely repetitive, it is even slower than the NES version, which didn't have the best gameplay but could still be fun and it also moves fast, so at least that one had fun, but the SNES version is so slow that there's barely if any fun in it at all.
  9. For some reason, this port lacks the shoot 'em up levels, which we're one of the best part of the NES game, and would have been nice to see them return here.
  10. For some weird reasons, this port was released in 1995, 2 years after the NES version was released, which is a bit too late to make a port of a game that existed 2 years before. It also doesn't help that the SNES was already out in 1993.
    • Also, one of the folders of the game says that the game was completed in 1994, which means that they must have delayed the game for no reason other than making it come out later than it should have been.
  11. Poor framerate that feels like it's in 25 fps and even 20 at times, which is downright unnaceptable for a 1995 SNES game since the other Ren & Stimpy games had way faster framerate than this; even Time Warp had slightly better framerates than this game, and it came out in 1994.
  12. While the graphics are decent, they aren't very faithful to the show art style, which makes it the weakest-looking Ren & Stimpy game on the SNES (along with Fire Dogs but that game still looks good too), since it isn't as detailed as the other three games, but, as said before, it still manages to look appealing.
    • Speaking of the graphics, they had some flaws:
      • As stated before, the game art style doesn't look faithful to the show, due to feeling more like it's came from a Japanese show (in a bad way), and the character's sprites aren't even faithful too, despite looking similar to their design, this is especially noticeable with Ren sprite.
      • Stimpy's sprite is the worst in the entire series since his color scheme is terrible to look at, his design is downgraded (though he still looks like what he is supposed to), and the fact that his sprite is way too big makes this even worse, even for Stimpy size, though he still isn't bad despite being worst than his previous sprites.
      • Unlike the other Ren & Stimpy games, this one had incredibly stiff animations when moving or even when jumping, as well as being less detailled than Veediots! animation, which was released in 1993, 2 years before this game.
        • The animation when falling is even worse than the other since it looks incredibly sloppy, stiff, and completely atrocious, this isn't helped by the fact that the falling sprite of Ren looks awful, as well as being one of the worst sprites of the entire game and the worst Ren sprite in this game, despite that Ren normal sprite look decent in this game.
      • Some of the backgrounds, while not terrible, had issues with its color palette that is very washed out, being abysmal looking and is the main reason why this is the weakest looking Ren & Stimpy game on the SNES (despite still looking decent), though they are a step up from the NES version.
      • Once again, the title screen is horrendous to look at, despite having the show title card, the reason why it is so awful is because of is very pixelated, and even because of its washed-out coloring, while Fire Dogs had this problem where the colors are too bright on the title screen, it at least looks decent enough and is more detailed, and that game was released in 1994.
      • To be honest, the graphics even look a bit like updated NES game graphics with only a bit more details, and more colors, this is especially true with both Ren and Stimpy sprites that look like they only have a bit more details to not let you know that they came from an NES game, and while some other 16-bit had 8-bit graphics like (such as Doraemon: Yume Dorobou to 7 Nin no Gozan on the Sega Genesis), they at least look better and had more details than this to make it look 16-bit like enough, and while this game had decent graphics, they doesn't look quite as good as the other Ren & Stimpy game on the SNES, this is even to the point that the Game Gear game, Quest for the Shaven Yak (despite looking great) and Stimpy's Invention look better than this, and they were released before this game, both being released in 1993.
  13. The camera is horrible for a SNES platformer since when you fall, it doesn't follow your character, meaning that you might fall in a pit without knowing or even that it will make you have a hard time playing the game, meaning that this game is even more annoying to play than it is. For example, Mega Man X3 was released in the same year, and the camera was great and followed your character, unlike this game.
  14. No passwords nor save feature, which means that you had to beat the game in one setting. This is a big problem considering how long this game is, and because of this, you might never beat the game at all.
  15. The hit-detection and also the collision-detection is atrocious and are even worse than in the NES version, since here when you hit enemies, sometimes you might take a hit for killing the enemy, and the collision is simply one of the worst you might ever see in a SNES game, since some time, you might jump on a platform but the action will not register and either you will not land on a platform and will land on the ground, and at times this will cause cheap deaths because there's a pit and this happens a lot, kind of like in Sonic 3D Blast, but in an even worse manner than that game.
  16. The cutscenes art style is awful since the color palette is very washed out and makes the main duo have different colors on their design, especially Ren, who is pink, and Stimpy, who had a dark gray color instead of white; even the NES version doesn't have this problem (that version uses the sprites though).
    • The animation in these is extremely awful and laughable too, even for an SNES game. For example, in the ending scene where Stimpy is crying, his animation is very terrible and looks like it wasn't complete. Ren in that scene doesn't even have animation at all.
      • Speaking of this, in the ending cutscene, when Stimpy is crying, his crying looks like it was reused from a Peppa Pig animation (even though it was released a decade after this game release).
    • The art style of those cutscenes is incredibly awful to look at not only because of the awful color palette in these but also because of how poorly the main duo is in those cutscenes, and while they tried to make them look like their show counterpart, it fails miserably due to the color and the awful drawing, this is even the cause of the awful animation.
  17. The game is extremely long for no reason other than to pad out the length of it. This is because of the Space Madness levels that are the absolute worst for that issue. Due to this, the game can last 1h30m to 2 hours. Even Time Warp is long for something, in this game, however, it is just because of the fillers.
    • But this is if you try to get the secret to getting money if you want to complete the game shorter, and if you skip them, the game might be beatable for around 1 hour.
  18. Once again, there is limited continue, which makes the situation of frustrating difficulty and long length even worse, and this could actually make the game harder since when you lose all your lifes, you need to restart the entire level, which became annoying quickly since the levels are extremely long too.
  19. For some reason, that version doesn't even have any bosses, even the NES version had mini-bosses in some of its levels, and while they are bland, they at least feel like bosses.
  20. Overall, this version ended the Ren & Stimpy video game franchise on a horrible note, since while the NES version wasn't perfect, it was still playable, but here this version is probably one of the worst platformers ever on the SNES, along with other horrible games like Wayne's World, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, Spider-Man: The Animated Series game on SNES, and is worse than even most of the Simpsons games developped by them (it even counts Bartman Meet Radioactive Man), to the point of also not only being the worst Ren & Stimpy platformer to date but also possibly one of the worst platformers of all time on SNES, this is because of it's bad level design, it's awful soundtrack consisting of only 3 terrible renditions of the show soundtrack, the unbalanced difficulty, the fillers and those kinds of awfulness found in this game.

Redeeming Qualities

In General

  1. The concept of the game was pretty good but executed, due to how bad the game design is, especially on the SNES version.
  2. Much like most other Ren & Stimpy games, a poster inside the box was given, which is neat.
  3. The box art for both versions is very good to look at since it is faithful to the series' art style, and it is also hilarious to look at.

Nintendo Entertainment System

  1. The soundtrack is somewhat catchy despite how bland it is, and there's more variety than in the SNES version, to the point of being a decent soundtrack, something the NES version wins over the SNES version.
  2. At least it doesn't have padding compared to the SNES version, specifically for the Madness levels.
  3. The shoot 'em up levels are kind of decent since the controls are responsive, and these sections are way better than the Space Madness levels.
  4. As mentioned above in WIWWAM #4, the graphics are at least somewhat fine, even when compared to a lot of the other Ren & Stimpy games.
  5. While the game is still bad, it is still much better than the other THQ NES games, which means a lot considering how atrocious most of them are.
  6. It is still slightly better than the SNES version, due to not being as poorly designed as the SNES port.

SNES

  1. Decent graphics that are detailed and colorful, despite that they aren't faithful to the show's art style and that Stimpy's sprite isn't that great to look at.
  2. The controls are responsive, at least, but they are ruined by being extremely slow to use, and the fact that the fact that they are responsive doesn't even make them good.
  3. At least, despite how bad this game is, it is still much better than Time Warp, which is saying a lot considering how bad that game also was.
  4. If some of the game flaws were fixed, such as the controls, the difficulty, and especially the hit-detection, then the game might have been decent, though it would likely end up being average at best.
  5. The soundtrack can still be catchy, even if it is bad, such as with the Happy Happy Joy Joy song that can be catchy the first time you hear it, but that doesn't even compare to either Veediots or Time Warp.

Reception

The game was barely reviewed by critics, though the reception of most people who have played it ranges from mixed to negative. Nintendo Power did not review the NES version but gave the SNES version a 2.85 out of 5. Game Players and Electronic Gaming Monthly were more positive about the game, with Game Players giving the SNES version a 75/100 and EGM giving the NES version a 6.5 out of 10.

The game was mostly criticized because of its awful controls, poor level design, awful soundtrack (at least on the SNES port), and that both games are short.

The game had a rating of 3.7/10 on IMDb, making it one of the lowest-rated NES/SNES on the website.[1]

The game scores on Gamefaqs are extremely low, and are some of the worst-received games of the franchise, the SNES version had a score of 2.26/5.00 by 35 users (Playable)[2], and a score of 2.46/5.00 for the NES version based on 52 users ratings (Playable)[3]

Trivia

  • It is the last Ren & Stimpy game on the SNES.
  • This was the only game based on Ren & Stimpy (or any Nicktoon, for that matter) to be released on the NES.
  • For some reason, the game is either known as "Buckaroo$! or "Buckeroo$!", but the actual title is the latter one. The reason why the game is called Buckaroo$! is unknown.
  • This is the longest page about Ren & Stimpy media, which is even longer than Ren & Stimpy "Adult Party Cartoon", and it is the longest page about an SNES game (if we doesn't count Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels).
