Need help making a page about a plane crash documentary series

Hello, I'm planelovinghistorian17. I would like to make a page talking about a plane crash series Called Mayday(also known as Air Disasters and Air Crash Investigation in other countries) A Canadian documentary series about various types of aviation accidents. The series has been going on since 2003, it's been well received. Though it has taken a small decline in quality twice.(The first when they began making there series a documentary only after Season 4, the second is when they started remaking older episodes in Season 22) So I think it should be here.

Having both good and bad media in only one place is a bad idea

Can we Add NFTs to the Bad Section of this wiki?

I know websites are banned on this wiki but We all hate NFTs right? So how about we make a page about NFTs and why they are bad?

I understand but we do not need to bring up “NFTS are bad for our environment. Anyone who’s an NFT supporter sucks, blah blah, blah” for the uptenth time. Saying these things can get annoying after a while. If anything, it should go under the Forbidden Pages section of the main page.

Disable page creation for anonymous and unconfirmed users

Since New Qualitipedia is currently suffering from a spam attack, I propose that the ability for anonymous and unconfirmed users to create pages be removed. Here's my reasoning for doing so:

1. All the current spam here comes from anonymous users. Not once have I seen a registered user post something like that.
2. Preventing unconfirmed users from creating pages as well prevents the spammers from simply creating an account to bypass the restriction. I know this contradicts what I said above, so this doesn't have to go into effect right away. If registered accounts start spamming, then this can be done.

Overall, this will stop at least 99% of the spam coming here, so we can contribute without stuff about events going on in Turkiye or some other foreign country bothering us. Normal page editing will still be unrestricted for anonymous/unconfirmed users as before. Tali64³ (talk) 19:48, February 22, 2023 (UTC)

Update: Now we're getting registered spambots. I actually think that restricting page creation to autoconfirmed users only is now too harsh, as many users would be locked out; maybe we can enable an extension such as Moderation to patrol new page creation (it's currently not in ManageWiki, but an administrator can request that Original Authority add it there)? I've been marking each spam page for deletion, but I just accidentally tripped an abuse filter for trying to mark a spambot's page for deletion. Tali64³ (talk) 23:43, February 22, 2023 (UTC)

@Tali64³: Deleted the spam and added the ConfirmEdit extension, which should theoretically slow spam bots down. Apparently, it didn't, because you deleted more spam and revoked the createpage and edit rights from anonymous users. Although I agree with removing createpage rights, I disagree with removing edit rights. Most anonymous edits to existing pages were constructive contributions from real users, so they should still be allowed to edit; on the other hand, most anonymous page creations were spam from spammers, so it makes sense to revoke the createpage rights from anonymous users. Not a good idea. Even a well-intentioned plan, such as positive celebrity pages, can likely get out of control with some less than caring users. Also, even some of the friendliest or most famous celebs out there are bond to have some dark secret or suspicious actions. Public images and off camera images are 2 completely different things. Rule #11 being ignored and broken

This message is likely gonna be ignored but imma say it anyways and I hope I don't get harassed or banned for this. After lurking in these wikis for a while, I noticed that this rule is being ignored and broken by a lot of users as some pages still use the term "SJW", and some pointers of said articles still have signs of right-wing bias on it despite this wiki claiming to be "not politically driven". I get that a lot of users here are right-wing leaning and are heavily against these types of people anyways, but what happened to "leaving the left and right alone"? Weren't those the words that the original founder of the original version of the wikis said if you're gonna help fix the damages that the original wikis caused? It's probably not that hard to criticize a piece of media without having to attack either sides of the spectrum nor (in)directly relate it to politics whatsoever. Characters being allowed

• I feared this day would come sooner or later. A key reason I left the character wikis back on Miraheze was because I realized it was getting too out of hand -- especially on the negative wiki, where some of character pages were either hate pages, didn't properly explain why the character was supposedly disliked, or about detestable characters we're supposed to hate, that aren't even that poorly-written. If we're going to allow character pages on this system, we're going to have to set some ground rules. SpaceProtagonist (talk) 19:07, June 17, 2023 (UTC)
  • First off: Try to avoid putting in too many characters intended to be disliked (unless they're disliked for some other reason) as the character's fulfilling their role in the work, and typically doesn't deserve unfair hatred. For instance, irredeemable monsters such as Griffith from Berserk, Johan Liebert from Monster, The Plutonian from Irredeemable, or Emperor Belos from The Owl House shouldn't be labelled as bad characters by default, just because of their instance depravity. These 4 villains are all three-dimensional, compelling presences, and beloved by both critics and audiences. That being said, complexity's not necessarily a requirement to be compelling and well-written (i.e.: Emperor Palpatine from Star Wars), but villains with no characterization other than pure evil may need a discussion before deciding whether they're good, or bad, or even interesting characters (Fire Lord Ozai from Avatar: The Last Airbender, Muzan Kibutsuji from Demon Slayer and Nemesis from the titular comic) My advice: If you're going to add a monstrous villain to the "bad characters" section, try using villains that are boring and/or poorly-written such as Don Thousand from Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL, MCU Malekith from Thor: The Dark World, or Robin King from Dark Nights: Death Metal) SpaceProtagonist (talk)
  • Second: Make sure the negative pages actually provide valid context as to why the character's disliked, and isn't just a stub. That way readers feel like the editor actually has a good idea of what they're talking about, and is judging the character fairly.
  • I've got some additional ideas, but it can't quite remember them all at the moment.

About copy/paste pages

If plagiarizing you mean copy pasting then no, it's not allowed. The pages copy pasted before the rule was implemented (March 16th, 2023) are allowed to stay here. The main reason why I prohibited it is because it defeats the purpose of rebooting a wiki.

The Dreaded Character Wikis

To this day, I still can't believe that the character wikis are the sole survivors of the Miraheze Wiki Purge. Let's just say there's a reason I left those wikis years ago, especially the Loathsome Characters wiki. Multiple actually. While it's true that I used to be an active user who was just as bad as a lot of the others in creating biased pages for undeserving, I soon realized the wrong I was doing, regretted my actions, and tried to make amends, partially by doing characters who actually deserved to be on there. But that didn't stop a bunch of other users from continuing the trend, especially with villains and Hate Sinks -- who are supposed to be disliked and half the time aren't even poorly-written. (Heck, Miguel O'Hara from Across the Spider-Verse used to have a page on there. No joke!) Plus they also misused the Generic Doomsday Villain, and Complete Monster tropes for villains they personally found boring or detestable. Some of the "monsters" they have are Tomoo, Post-Season 8 Peter Griffin, Flanderized Mr. Krabs, APC Ren, some spoiled kid named Louie Farley and Xena and Xavier from Odd Squad (I wish I were making this up.) None of the guys are anywhere close to being Pure Evil. Again they're being biased, and even if I take them off, the cycle could just start back up again. I refused to be involved with those wikis. We should stop putting "This (insert type of media here) is extremely controversial and therefore no positive qualities should be added" in some articles.

I perfectly know why they put that disclaimer but we should stop doing it since it makes the articles look biased and nobody is defending those horrible media, even if the media the article criticizes is bad and has malicious propaganda. Just because someone adds redeeming qualities doesn't mean they is defending it as those articles are criticizing those media.

The main reason why those disclaimers are added is because if we add redeeming qualities, it doesn't feel like we're taking stuff like propaganda, rape and pedophilia seriously. I'll be more lenient towards certain pages like 13 Reasons Why, Fox News and Skillz, but for pages like Tomorrow's Pioneers, Boku no Pico, Cuties and RapeLay, don't even bother asking those, because if you'll ask it constantly, you will instantly get a temporary ban. Alright, I'm starting to understand why you guys are so critical towards various films, shows and games with a lot of disturbing content. However, it seems that various users are adding disturbing pages on purpose just to balance out the bad content (to the point where there are arguably more bad media pages than good media pages). If this is going to continue, I believe we're going to have to set a limit over the type of material that's to be allowed on this service... especially if it'll eventually be viewed thousands of outsiders.

We don't want readers to come across pages about works that consist entirely of explicit sex or other fetishistic stuff, without a proper story. Or pages on works that depict sexual activity between children in an explicit manner or in glorifying fashion. Or works with titillating references to sexual activity involving preteens. We need to draw some kind of line if we're to avoid controversy. A serious important message.

For those of you who don’t understand what I’m saying. Qualitipedia is now in a really, really, really, really low budget. That means later this wiki is going to look really, really cheap like the other reception wikis. Here. Let me explain. Unlike having an encyclopedia wiki, having a reception wiki can be fun in terms of creativity. But unless you review or see what movie was or play a game and see you like it or not or if you get paid to do this, you’re absolutely making no money or profit whatsoever. I mean, the wikis are always been done on a low budget. Man, all the articles have been made with Bad and Good Qualities parts on them. But due to rough economic times, these articles has to be done fast and with no money. (Sigh)

Number 1: by taking criticism easily, so that means you’re gonna go easy on the ratings, by checking how the Show and the Game and the Film turned out.

Second, what does monetization and budget have to do with Reception Wikis and wiki editing as a whole? People only requested for these wikis to be made here and on Telepedia. And requesting for wikis on Miraheze and Telepedia are free (although the latter is ad-filled). You don't pay or earn money from simply making articles on a free wiki like this one. The recent Red Dead Redemption 1 ports

An “It’s Made for Kids!” Defender is Lurking Around This Wikia

I don’t know if you guys have noticed but this user is spamming the comments sections of pages around the wikia, mainly, the bad episode pages of Teen Titans Go! with complaints that we are taking “the show too seriously”. Have any of you noticed this? Well, I can say this, if they’re having those complaints then why are they here? We’re here to look at entertainment beyond just something to sit there and escape. These pieces of media, live action or animated are art and kids don’t deserve repulsive content. Remember those weird animations by Steve Cutts where it shows humanity bad and shit like that, well these videos teach nothing and not to mention some of his animation while unique looking are also bad, it's the equivalent of "Just because it's depressing, it doesn't make it deep or complex", anyway i do think there should be a wiki page about these, not that he's an entirely bad animator, he's also behind that amazing LA-Z Rider couch gag from The Simpsons, but his own animations that shows nothing but depressiong should be pointed out thanks Robin (talk) 14:39, September 29, 2023 (UTC)

Hi, I’m Batboy234 and I have used to be a user on the original Qualitipedia and seeing that a new one feels like the original never went away. I’m hoping that this wiki doesn’t end up like the former one and despite a few other pages not being made yet, for example "The Fairly OddParents (seasons 1-8)", I’d say it’s still a work in progress, so whoever are the administrators of these wikis, keep doing the amazing work! 👍

Hello all, I have implemented a mixture of different measures to stop the spamming, namely AbuseFilters and the SpamBlacklist extension. Hopefully this stops the spammers, but more precautious measures could be temporarily requiring email confirmation to edit ($wgEmailConfirmToEdit in ManageWiki). This would stop a lot of spammers as the emails they are using do not exist. The 14th rule is questionable and unfair

Why I can't copy and paste the pages from the completely closed wikis? Most closed wiki pages are good enough to not keep editing, I released two pages (Goat Simulator and Jurassic World: Dominion) just to expand the New Qualitypedia, but CJ keeps deleting and saying "do it yourself", which is a pain to create the pages with loads of information, so rule 14 should be changed like this:

"If you copy and paste pages from closed wikis, you must write "Note: This page was copied and pasted from the "name of wiki" Wiki, if not write like this, you will be warned."

Your two arguments are very poor in reality. Copy pasting pages because the wiki is getting empty is wrong because you can simply make pages on your own. Not only does your reasoning make you look like a lazy person who doesn't want to work hard, but it also violates content fork on Telepedia's Content Policy, which strictly forbid that. Original Authority once gave me an exception in copy pasting pages, and I ran with it until some people told me that copy pasting pages is not going to improve the wiki. So I forbid that. Remove Brazilian User from Administrator

Granting Brazilian User access to be an administrator is one of various unwise decisions I've seen recently and is the first that needs to be undone. In his very short term there are already several examples why.

• He is power hungry and has no understanding of the responsibility involved. User page: "I'm an administrator! Remember that you must follow the wiki rules, otherwise I will block you! MWAHAHAHA!" Immature and unfunny. "Hello, this is the Brazilian User user page. Don't insult him, especially since he's an administrator now." Especially? An insult is an insult, have a thicker skin and deal with it normally. The role does not entitle you to be bulletproof against criticism but more on that shortly. I get having a little pride but this is concerning.
• Removing a perfectly relevant post because it offended his sensibilities. To draw from that post and surrounding thread,
• Unsatisfied and ungrateful, thinking that he must have bureaucrat to be an admin. Considering admins can do almost anything and bureaucrat has the power to totally alter the configuration or straight up delete the wiki if he plays with the wrong buttons, this is concerning. It also shows a total lack of understanding what admins are. He thinks he deserves it without even trying to justify why.
• The promotion was not warranted in the first place. Following rules is basic behavior. Improving pages is normal behavior. Poor judgement moments after being promoted does not lend confidence to him deciding what inappropriate behavior is.

There is a reason Brazilian User was never on the table for promotion in QP. These decisions have - should have - weight. An admin is a leader, a representative. A bureaucrat even more so, as that role carries the highest judgement short of the owner of Telepedia. This little show already has the wiki at the knife's edge. Don't take my word for it: "I think everyone needs to just get along and stop being so—frankly—immature, this behaviour is reminiscent of the original Qualitipedia and if it continues I will just close the wiki."

If you do not stop and think immediately, the wiki's existence is on the line and I challenge any of you to find a host that will make the mistake of approving such a wiki. Consider your next steps carefully. CJ is advised to take advice that has already been posted on telepedia meta and through discord and start correcting the ship before it slips under the waves. Robin is advised to step up and think through these decisions. Both need to start working together. It's me, SuperStreetKombat, one of the ex-admins of the old Qualitipedia. So lately, I've been noticing a lot of issues going on here on New Qualitipedia such as complaints regarding Rule 14, admins like Robin getting demoted, and other admins like Brazillian User abusing their power, so I thought I'd step in and see if I can help anyone with whatever issues that go on around here.

Normally, I was planning on not coming to this wiki and I was about to let it carry on as is, but with other users like mature templates being misused, custom headings like "Autobot Qualities" or "Decepticon Qualities" being added to a few Transformers pages, etc., I just couldn't let these issues go on, as the old QP also suffered from them, so I'm hoping that I could sort at least a few of them out.

As some of you can already tell, I'm currently an admin on a few wikis on Miraheze like Amazing YouTubers Wiki (promoted by Tali due to the ongoing vandalism there), both of the Characters Wikis, as well as the recreation of Weirdcyclopedia, since that wiki got deleted from ShoutWiki due to the issues that plagued it for months, so hopefully I'm trustworthy enough to be an admin or at least a mod to keep this wiki on track again and stop it from shutting down. Robin, we need to end rule 13 (formerly 14) immediately! When I was an administrator, they said I was "abusing my power." I am not going to bother trying to explain your problems because you've ignored or twisted the case why you were unfit for the role. This was never criticism of you as an editor, simply a statement that you were not appropriate as a member of staff. I have taken this approach consistently with others and you don't have to like me for it. Your options are to move on or to leave. What you will not do is declare you will leave while coming up with excuses to complain some more and vandalizing my talk page. I wasn't going to mention it out of decency but I went to Original Authority and asked him lift your block because my issue was not with you personally or your wider editing. New Qualitypedia is getting worse because of damn rule 13, this made the administrators leave this wiki due to bad moderation, I am an admin and creator of Pikmin WIP Wiki on Fandom (I will change the name as soon as the Roblox Pikmin fan game changes the name), and the rules are very basic, poorly made and unfinished, and even so, my wiki is not as bad as this wiki, and there wasn't even any drama. Ah yes, that is the SocialProfile extension. It was used a lot on old Qualitipedia. The error you mention below is a lingering problem that @Original Authority: is working on. The layout looks weird because I haven't put in a few hacks that make it look better yet. Hello all! This was a known issue, that I thought I had solved a few days ago, but obviously not. Rest assured, it is now fixed. You will need to remove your avatar and reupload it for things to show properly. Furthermore, the images will be cached and as a result, may not immediately show if you change it frequently. I will work on implementing a way for the cache to be evicted when an avatar is changed, but this is pretty low on my priority list.

I just wanted to reiterate the point that I've mentioned numerous times before. This talk page is not monitored and as such, there is no value in raising Platform-wide (or even any technical issue) here, because it simply won't be caught. I thought I fixed this issue days ago and if Raidarr hadn't tagged me in this, I would never have known that the fix I implemented didn't take.
